New regional business portal and concierge service to help bushfire-affected communities rebuild
The bushfire-affected communities rebuild portal and concierge service will help NSW Government agencies comply with PBD 2020-01 Support for bushfire affected communities which states:
“NSW Government agencies must use local businesses within the communities impacted by the bushfires wherever possible for clean-up, repair, rebuilding, remediation and enhancement works arising out of, in relation to or following the bushfires”.
Agencies can use any suitable and capable local business, whether they are prequalified through existing procurement arrangements or not.
If there is no appropriate local business available, then other regional businesses should be considered before other suppliers.
About the portal
The bushfire-affected communities rebuild portal gives buyers a place to upload their bushfire recovery plans and quick access to local suppliers based in affected regions.
Government, councils, insurance firms and other potential users of regional suppliers can all use the portal.

The concierge service offers advice and guidance to buyers wanting to engage suppliers based in affected regions.
